father's day titles
The Locust Valley Bookstore has stocked up for Father’s Day which is on Sunday, June 18. Please come in and take a look at this week’s featured titles including:
A SPECK IN THE SEA: A STORY OF SURVIVAL AND RESCUE by John Aldridge and Anthony Sosinski (May 2017). Intense! A true and harrowing adventure story about the Montauk fishing community. A tale of survival, family, resilience and strength.
THE AMERICAN SPIRIT by David McCullough (April 2017). This is a small book, a timely collection of speeches written to remind us of our American values. Mr. McCullough is considered by many to be among the most distinguished historians in the United States.
BEFORE THE PASS AWAY by Jimmy Nelson (2013). This is a magnificent coffee-table book about tribal cultures around the world. The photographs are stunning as are the stories and commentary that accompany them. It gives us all a lot to think about and you don’t want to miss it.
CAMINO ISLAND by John Grisham (June 2017). Thieves steal a cache of priceless items from a vault inside Princeton University. The plot includes a popular bookstore in a small town, so we are of course, recommending this novel!
HUE by Mark Bowden (June 2017) The Vietnam War, the Tet Offensive and the bloodiest battle of the entire conflict. We’ve already re-ordered twice.
MAGPIE MURDERS by Anthony Horowitz (June 2017) A whodunit full of suspense. It’s got all the good stuff; ambition, greed and murder.
We offer gift wrapping and gift certificates if you cannot make a decision and we can also get just about any book via special order within 24-48 hours.
Mark Your Calendars! Holly Peterson, author of It Happens In The Hamptons, will sign copies of her bestseller which is in its umpteenth printing on Thursday, June 29 from 4pm-7pm. Champagne and strawberries will be served.
Our website should be up and running by the end of the month and we are finally joining the 21st century with a Facebook page. Stay tuned. Instagram does work and you can follow us at locustvalleybookstore.
